Commercial Developers Buy 58 Harris County Acres

HOUSTON-The buyers of the raw land are planning future retail, office or mixed-use development. The largest tract, 15 acres, is targeted for a retail center at the intersection of Spring Cypress Road and Texas 249.

HOUSTON-Four land sales, all ticketed for future commercial development, recently closed escrow in Harris County.

A 15-acre parcel along Spring Cypress Road and Texas 249 was sold by J.A. Ehrhardt to Spring Cypress 10.72 Ltd. The buyer plans to begin development of a retail center, possibly a Super Kmart, according to broker Todd N. Edmonds, who along with Karl D. Willmann, both with Betz Commercial Brokerage Inc., represented the seller. The Caldwell Watson team of Keith Grouthaus and Keith Edwards negotiated the deal for the buyer.

A 10-acre parcel located along Hardy Road between FM 1960 and Airtex was sold by Hardy North JV to Leading Edge Technologies, a high-end turbine service company. Edmonds, who represented the buyer in the transaction, said his client expects to construct a freestanding corporate headquarters, building which should come out of the ground before the year ends. Ron Dagley, also with Betz Commercial, represented the seller.
