Atlantic States Bank, based in Raleigh, has selected the historic Walter Tipps building at 712 Congress Ave. in the CBD as its Austin headquarters and Balcones Centre at 11149 Research Blvd. in the far northwest submarket as its other location. It will take 5,316 sf at the Balcones Centre and 5,637 sf at the Tipps building. Eric DeJernett of NAI/Commercial Industrial Properties Co. was the bank's broker.
Atlantic States Bank, a federal savings bank, serves individuals, professionals and small- to medium-size businesses. It has 42 offices in the Atlanta area and throughout Florida. It is a subsidiary of First Citizens BancShares, an $11.86-billion holding company, based in Raleigh.
The Tipps building, built in 1865, has 21,000 sf on three floors. It is leased by American Realty Corp. The Balcones Centre has 80,000 sf on four floors. Endeavor Real Estate Group handles its leasing.
