North Carolina Bank Ready for Austin Ramp-Up

AUSTIN-Atlantic States Bank is awaiting regulatory approval to forge ahead on plans for an Austin rollout. An OK will bring a main location at the historic Walter Tipps building in the CBD and the other at Balcones Centre in the far northwest submarket.

AUSTIN-A North Carolina-based bank plans to open two Austin branches, its first outside the Southeast US, once it receives the OK from bank regulators.

Atlantic States Bank, based in Raleigh, has selected the historic Walter Tipps building at 712 Congress Ave. in the CBD as its Austin headquarters and Balcones Centre at 11149 Research Blvd. in the far northwest submarket as its other location. It will take 5,316 sf at the Balcones Centre and 5,637 sf at the Tipps building. Eric DeJernett of NAI/Commercial Industrial Properties Co. was the bank’s broker.
