The hotel was developed by White Lodging Services of Merrillville, IN, and the Denver-based Etkin Johnson Group.
"The SpringHill Suites by Marriott is a true evolution of the 'hotel room for business travelers' concept," says Jenny Leighty, the general manager. "We're providing guests with room designs, services and amenities not typically found at a standard or an extended-stay hotel. We've made things more convenient so business people can get their work done more efficiently and effectively."
Among SpringHill Suites by Marriott's many advantages is free, high-speed Internet access from a person's suite. SpringHill Suites is the first and only hotel to provide this service for free along the Boulder corridor and many competing hotels charge as much as $8.95 for the same service, she says.
"Since we're located along Colorado's technology corridor, we felt it was necessary to enable our customers to connect with the Internet for free," Leighty says. "It's a key part of many people's jobs, and research shows that individuals are nearly 20% more likely to work on the Internet from their hotel if access is free."
The room design is made for business travelers. Suites include an office area with a desk and ergonomic chair, meeting space with a table, chair and sofa. The "business space" also has a refrigerator and counter area for serving refreshments. The business space is separated from the suite's bedroom and bathroom by a half wall. A 27-inch television is visible from both rooms, and includes an adapter for a person's laptop.
Additional features in all of the suites include a CD player, safes large enough for a laptop computer, granite counters, full-bath sheets, Speakman shower heads, a sofa bed, down pillows and blankets.
The hotel also includes a full-service business center and a 1,100-sf conference room. Additional amenities include free seasonal breakfasts, an indoor pool large enough for lap swimming, a workout room, a sundry shop, a sport court, daily maid service and access to trails and walking paths. Introductory room rates at SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Westminster will start at $79 per night.
