LARKSPUR, CA-The Marin Community Foundation says it is providing close to $3 million in grants and loans to support three new affordable housing projects in the North Bay county.

Foundation spokesman Fred Silverman says the Bolinas Community Land Trust is receiving a grant of $300,000 and a loan of $144,000 to transform the historic Gibson House Bakery in downtown Bolinas into six rental units. The units will be available to low-income individuals and families who work in education, health care and child care at rents ranging from $375 to $600 per month. This project marks the first long-term affordable housing effort in Bolinas, according to Silverman.
