Heritage Place Apartments, an 88-unit facility, is slated to open in the historic Cuyler-Brownsville neighborhood on Saturday, Gina Coupens, a spokesperson from Atlanta-based Mercy Housing SouthEast, tells GlobeSt.com. Mercy Housing began developing the property back in October 2000 alongside NorSouth Corp. of Atlanta.
Total development costs are $7.9 million. Heritage Place consists of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. The amount of rent a resident pays depends on his household income and must not exceed 60% of the area median household income ($28,920 or lower for a family of four).
MHSE is a member of the Mercy Housing System, a national not-for-profit affordable housing development and management company. NorSouth Corp. is a private apartment developer.
