ATLANTA-New leadership has emerged at Columbia, SC-based Edens & Avant. The firm, an owner of grocery-anchored shopping centers and other retail assets, has promoted Terry S. Brown to the post of chief executive officer and Jodie W. McLean to president and chief investment officer.

Brown, who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Edens & Avant, served as the firm's financial adviser since 1995. He has been involved in the company's major capital and property transactions.

Prior to that, Brown was the CEO of Andersen Corporate Finance LLC, where he was responsible for its investment banking activities across the US.

McLean will be responsible for expanding the company's presence in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. A 13-year employee of Edens & Avant, she has served as its chief investment officer since 1997 and has acquired $1.5 billion of retail properties.
