Lowe Enterprises bought the building last year from Associated Grocers and has since renovated it to appeal to a wider market. Cushman & Wakefield handled the sale last year and now serves as the leasing agent for the building.
"That Lowe has been able to complete such a significant deal in these challenging market conditions is a testament to their flexibility and creativity to make a deal that works for both parties," says Brad Knowles, who along with Tony Kusak brokered the deal for Cushman & Wakefield. "This is the most significant industrial lease to close in the last 18 months in the Kent Valley market, and it could prove to be a good jumpstart for the next couple of quarters."
Starbucks will use the space as a storage and distribution site for coffee beans. The company owns a roasting facility just a half block away from the new distribution center. With the leasing of this large amount of space, the Springbrook 188 Distribution Center has about 90,000 sf of available space remaining and can accommodate as much as 30,000 sf of office build out.
