The developers have also filed a breach of contract lawsuit against engineering firm Parsons Brinckerhoff, a consultant on the airport project, and the group behind the south Route 125 extension.

The developers claim in court documents that the city was legally required to allow Brown Field Aviation to complete planning of the airport before voting on it last fall. The City Council voted 8-0 on Oct. 1 to end its five-year exclusive negotiating agreement with the developers.

Brown Aviation hoped to convert Brown Field into a specialized cargo airport.
