Fairchild Semiconductor Develops 800,000-SF Facility in China

SOUTH PORTLAND, ME-Fairchild Semiconductor International begins construction on an 800,000-sf manufacturing and automated warehouse facility in Suzhou, China. The building is a key part of the company's expansion plans into Asia.

SOUTH PORTLAND, ME-Fairchild Semiconductor International, a supplier of high performance products for multiple end markets, has begun construction on an 800,000-sf manufacturing and automated warehouse facility in Suzhou, China.

The plant will be an assembly and test facility to manufacture a range of logic, discrete and analog products. The new factory will produce products for both the local China market and for export to the rest of Asia, Europe and the Americas and is a vital part of the company’s global strategy. This is the first factory completely constructed by Fairchild, which is headquartered in this city, since becoming an independent entity nearly five years ago.
