The company is subleasing 3,100 sf in a private transaction with ProSoftTraining Inc., which also provides technical training. Mark Lamkin, a TechSkills spokesman, tells GlobeSt.com that the companies didn't use brokers in the deal.
Lamkin says the office has about five employees including TechSkills' president and CEO Kevin Paulsen. Lamkin said the company was attracted to Austin by the community's work force, quality of life and low cost of living. Eventually, TechSkills expects to have 20 employees in Austin. It has nearly 300 full-time employees.
Ronnie Brooks, a broker with Kurt Simons Co., which leases the building, says it's 100% occupied on direct lease terms. Built in 1985, it has 53,000 sf on three floors.
