The Blair Towns structure carries the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification, a guarantee that the building will adhere to environmentally friendly regulations such as water and energy efficiency, high indoor environmental quality, and the usage of environmentally acceptable materials for construction.

While this is Tower's first residential green project, the company has completed green office projects, including the District's The Millennium Building and Rockville's Tower Building. Construction completion for The Blair Towns--which carries the additional distinction of being the first apartment structure to go up the city in over a decade--is scheduled for March 2003.
