George Harcourt of Grubb & Ellis Co.'s San Antonio office represented Scania. San Antonio-based real estate firm R.L. Worth owns the property and was represented by Shawn Gilley.
Harcourt tells GlobeSt.com that the renewal is short-term since Scania anticipates moving to larger quarters next year. Scania came to San Antonio three years ago from Orange, CT, to be closer to Mexico where some of its products are sold. Harcourt represented Scania when it moved to San Antonio.
Scania USA, a division of Sweden-based Saab, makes heavy truck and marine engines for trucks and boats. The Interpark site is a receiving and shipping center for relaying parts to and from Mexico.
Interpark, which has 343,759 sf, is near Bitters Road and Highway 281, just north of San Antonio International Airport. The front of the property is devoted to offices with more industrial operations in the rear of the business park.
