A completion date for the conversion has not been set.

When completed, the facility would house McLane Minnesota, the 19th facility in the firm's grocery distribution business unit. A current tenant, Malt-O-Meal, will continue to lease about 120,000 sf.

The former Fairway Foods distribution center has been nearly empty for more than two years -- ever since Fairway closed its wholesale food operations in both Northfield and Fargo, ND. Northfield is about 45 miles south of the Twin Cities.

The terms of the sale were not disclosed. Holiday is a retailer based in Bloomington, MN.

McLane, a subsidiary of Wal-Mart Stores, operates in all 50 states and overseas and is a wholesaler to convenience stores, mass merchants, quick-service restaurants and movie theaters. The firm delivers food and non-food products to more than 50,000 customerlocations around the world.
