MKS Instruments is a developer, manufacturer and supplier of instruments, components and subsystems used to measure, control and analyze gases in the manufacture of semiconductors and other products. The company plans to move into Rio Robles next month.
According to Byron Woodworth, CarrAmerica Senior Vice President of Leasing for the San Francisco Bay Area, "despite the market slowdown in Silicon Valley leading technology companies such as MKS continue to desire a presence in the center of the high-tech universe."
The average rental rate for the San Jose airport area is approximately $2.90 per sf, full service. Carlos Lorente and Craig Leiker of Wayne Mascia Associates represented MKS in the transaction. CarrAmerica represented itself.
Rio Robles Technology Center is located within the "golden triangle" of Silicon Valley and is situated near San Jose International Airport, several major highways and the light rail system. It is comprised of five, one-story and two, two-story office buildings with typical floor plates of 41,000 square feet.
