Best Buy purchased five acres at Nelson Mandela Parkway and Interstate 580 in Oakland for $9 million from Wilcox Development Services. Wilcox acquired the site, along with an additional three acres, two years ago for $8 million. The company sold three acres to Extended Stay America last year for a hotel development.
Kland LLC, a Santa Rosa-based investor, has acquired a 148,000-sf office/R&D building from SOLA International, one of the world's largest eyeglass lens manufacturers, for approximately $18 million.
The property, which is located at 1500 Cader Lane, consists of a 14-acre lot. Kland plans to renovate 100,000-sf of warehouse space on the property to accommodate a climate-controlled warehouse. Steve Leonard of Meridian brokered the deal.
