Boykin Fires Andersen, Hires Deloitte & Touche

NEW YORK CITY-For the second time in two weeks, Arthur Andersen has lost a major hotel client. The latest defector is lodging REIT Boykin Lodging Co., following quickly on the heels of Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

NEW YORK CITY-While lodging trends may be tough to identify these days, pink-slipping Arthur Andersen may be emerging as one of the few strategies that hotel owners have in common.

Two weeks to the day after Starwood Hotels & Resorts informed Andersen that it would be shifting its independent auditing business to Ernst & Young, (Click on: Starwood Dumps Andersen as Auditor) Cleveland-based REIT Boykin Lodging Co. has iced Andersen in favor of Deloitte & Touche. Andersen had served as Boykin’s independent accountants.
