As owner and operator, Crown West has just begun construction of a $4-million 82,000-sf combination office/warehouse building at 16125 E. Euclid. And a build-to-suit for Spokane-based Chipman Moving & Storage has also broken ground. Chipman, which purchased a one-acre lot in the park along Marietta Avenue is a 30,000-sf building said to have penciled out at $1.3 million.

The Spokane Business & Industrial Park is 500 acres of a 575-acre former World War II naval supply depot, acquired by Crown West in 1996. Since then, the company has spent in the vicinity of $20 million for infrastructure, renovation of existing buildings and new construction to attract industrial tenants to more than 4.5 million sf of space.

General contractor on both of the new projects is Vandervert Construction Inc., a prominent local firm. Completion of the two is scheduled for this August according to the project manager, Tim Stulc.
