The university says that more than $57 million of the $119 million goal would be used for facilities, while $48.7 million will be allocated for endowments to support mission, scholarships, faculty enrichment, and the Gonzaga-in-Florence study abroad program. Another $6 million would support programs and $7 million would go to the annual fund.
Gonzaga's last capital campaign, which ended in 1992, raised $72 million to construct four new academic buildings, renovate several others and provide funds for scholarships, professorships and research.
The university has raised $60 million so far in this campaign, including a lead gift of $10 million from longtime Gonzaga benefactors James and Joann Jundt of Wayzata, Minn. The Jundts also provided the lead gift for the Jundt Art Center and Museum, which was completed in October 1995.
