Work Begins on Harvest States' $60M Plant

FAIRMONT, MN-Todd & Sargent is the design/build contractor, one of the few that Harvest States deemed was able to do the work involved with the soybean crushing facility on 26 acres.

FAIRMONT, MN-The Harvest States Division of CHS Cooperatives recently began construction of a $60-million soybean crushing facility on 26 acres of a larger 200-acre site here. The soybean crushing facility at 1833 130th St., Harvest States’ second in southern Minnesota, is expected to be completed by the fall of 2003.

When completed, this plant will crush approximately 110,000 bushels per day.

Todd & Sargent is the design/build general contractor and was one of only five contractors nationally with the capabilities and experience to bid on this complexconstruction project, Harvest States says. The firm has previously served as general contractor for Harvest States’ processing plant projects in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
