The project, which is slated to commence in May, will include the demolition and reconfiguration of the mall's existing internal courtyard. Plans call for the construction of new plaza areas to be furnished with benches, tables, chairs, umbrellas and decorative lighting. In addition, the complex's monument signs will be reconstructed. The mall will stay open during the project, which is targeted for a November 2003 completion. The 23-acre neighborhood shopping center, which stands at Las Posas Road and Arneill Road, was last remodeled in 1987.

Acquired by Donahue Schriber in 2000, Camarillo Village Square is 95% leased. Anchored by Albertsons and Rite Aid, it includes more than 30 stores and restaurants. New store leases have been recently signed by Starbucks, Quizno's, Panda Express and Tuesday Morning.
