Like other farmers' markets throughout the state, the Chinatown Farmers' Market will exclusively feature high-quality produce from certified growers and producers in California. But, specifically for this market, many farmers will feature Asian produce to give the Chinatown Farmers' Market a distinctive "East Meets West" feel.
The district has more than 30,000 commuters traveling through it everyday during the work week, according to sources at the Chinatown Business Improvement District. The Chinatown Farmers' Market will be held each Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the public parking lot at 727 North Hill, between Alpine and Ord. The lot is adjacent to the United Commercial Bank building.
To organize this market, the Chinatown BID is working with the Southland Farmers' Market Association. Many of the farmers' markets in the area are members of the Southland Farmers' Market Association, including those in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Studio City and Westwood.
