Joint Study Targets Mortgage Risk Data

NEW YORK CITY-Philadelphia-based real estate research firm Property & Portfolio Research LLC has launched a commercial real estate risk management study in association with the Boston- and London-based Risk Management Association. The study will focus on the collection, analysis and reporting of commercial real estate mortgage and construction loan performance data.

According to PPR’s director of risk management and debt research, George Pappadopoulos, there is a “crying need” for data on commercial real estate defaults. “It’s very difficult to get a good handle on performance data,” he tells GlobeSt.com. “We’re trying to get a little bit of a different viewpoint from the understanding of banks.”
