Engineering Firm Opens $26M Facility

TROY, MI-Altair Engineering Inc. builds a 133,000-sf facility to expand operations at the site of the now-closed Troy Airport. The property belonged to Liberty Property Trust after the airport's closing.

TROY, MI-Altair Engineering Inc. has opened its new world headquarters in the Big Beaver Business Park. The firm, which provides engineering consultant services to clients such as the Big Three and most Fortune 500 companies, has paid $26 million to build a three-story, 133,000-sf building at the former site of the Troy Airport.

Liberty Property Trust, a local REIT, bought the land after the airport closed.

Altair bought the land for its new headquarters with financing from National City Bank. The facility was supposed to open in February, but was delayed.
