At other points in the real estate cycle, 13,500 sf would not be a big deal. But through four months of 2002, it's one of the biggest office deals of the year. And, when there's three million sf on the market, every bit helps.

The company has about 50 employees and intends to hire more, says Pam O'Neal, a Vieo spokeswoman. Carl Williams of Austin's HerronWilliams, who represented Vieo in its three-month search, said just about every size and configuration is available. "Everything you want is out there," he tells GlobeSt.com. Russell Young of Commercial Texas represented Commerce One Inc., which subleased the space to Vieo.

Research Park Plaza II is a 130,888-sf Cousins Properties Inc.-developed project completed in 2000. Vieo moved from an older, smaller building on Hymeadow Drive, just a few miles up Research Boulevard.

With the move, Vieo gets more than more office space. "It's important that the work environment supports our drive to innovate across all aspects of the business," said Robert Fabbio, the company's president and CEO. He adds that the new space helps project "the appropriate company image to IT professionals evaluating Vieo solutions, and that it helps us attract the best talent available."

InfiniBand is an emerging technology designed to speed the transfer of information in and out of computers. Vieo also has offices in Richardson and St. Paul.
