UnitedAuto Group-West bought the building from Station Venture Operations, one of General Electric's operating companies. The property is located at 8330 Engineer Road. UnitedAuto Group plans to demolish the building on the 2.8-acre site, where San Diego's NBC affiliate studios were located, as part of a $40 million redevelopment of its car dealerships along Kearny Mesa Road. The company will use a portion of the site to expand its Toyota sales division, currently located adjacent to the acquisition. The group will also build additional parking.
Randy LaChance and Glen Volk of Voit Commercial Brokerage's San Diego office represented both Station Ventures Operation and the seller, UnitedAuto Group-West.
UnitedAuto acquired this property as part of its effort to enhance the look of the auto dealerships lining Kearny Mesa Road, says Howard Holtz, San Diego corporate facilities director for UnitedAuto Group-West.
