The new branch is located at 2975 Westchester Ave in Purchase, NY. David Moore, senior mortgage banker and Westchester County sales manager for NYMC, will manage the new office.

"We felt it was appropriate to establish a physical presence here, along with an initial team of five mortgage bankers to meet the demand in this diverse housing market," says NYMC president Steven Schnall. "The office will be fully self sufficient--enabling the application and approval process, and the funding, to be achieved on-site."

According to Moore, Westchester is among the strongest housing markets in the tri-state area, and has not been adversely affected by the economic downturn. "Westchester County has a healthy mix of residential properties, including affordable housing, middle class homes, luxury houses and co-ops and condos," he says. "It's a solid market with a lot of growth potential. While other lending institutions have been disinvesting in their retail mortgage departments, we have been expanding ours. Our intent is to elevate the level of personalized customer service to mortgage consumers in the Westchester marketplace."

Founded in 1991, NYMC is both a direct lender and a mortgage brokerage, offering its own products and the products of more than 50 other lenders. The firm closed on more than $1 billion in residential and commercial mortgages last year.
