The Alabama retailer plans to open an 80,000-sf, two level Saks Fifth Avenue store by fall 2004 at the 1.3-million-sf Triangle Town Center which opens Aug. 14 of this year.

The development cost of the structure wasn't disclosed in a prepared statement. But area construction industry estimators tell GlobeSt.com on condition of anonymity the store will probably be built at about $200 per sf or a total $16 million.

The statement didn't disclose Sak's plans to lease or own the building. The Richard E. Jacobs Group of Cleveland, OH is developing Triangle Town Center.
