The station will include a bus driveway on the west side of the mall near Monroe Street. The district will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
Terra-Cal Construction of Baldwin Park is building the $830,000 project, which will have cutouts for the eight buses, shelters and lighting. Westfield Shoppingtown Plaza Camino Real is one of the county's busiest transit stops. Westfield Shoppingtown contributing about $108,000 to theproject expected to be completed in August.
The district is the major provider of public transportation in North County and also provides the Coaster commuter rail service between Oceanside and San Diego.
