ROCHESTER HILLS, MI-A new style of mega-mall is almost 100% leased here. The Village of Rochester Hills, at Adams and University roads, was formerly a small, 120,000-sf inside mall with no significant anchor and a few restaurants and retail shops.

Now, construction is steadily progressing at the new 375,000-sf outdoor mall. Paul Kesman, spokesman for developer Robert B. Aikens & Associates of Troy, says the company hopes to open the complex Sept. 19.

“Construction is moving along aggressively,” he tells GlobeSt.com about the 33-acre site. “It’s going to be a full-scale kind of town center, with two anchors and 40 other odd retailers on both sides of a village-style main street.”
