With the recent completion of 555 City Center, Oakland City Center encompasses more than 1.5 million sf of office space and includes 18 restaurants and food outlets, more than a dozen retail shops and services, a complete athletic club and parking for 1,840 vehicles.
The 10-year lease is effective immediately. CSC plans to relocate in September 2002 from the Kaiser Center near Lake Merritt in Oakland. The company's new offices will be located on the 11th and 13th floors of the building.
Tom Esperance, formerly of USI, was the broker acting on behalf of Computer Sciences Corporation. Dolby handled the lease for Shorenstein. The deal is City Center's largest commercial office space lease in 2002.
In other leasing activity at Oakland City Center, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Inc. has signed a five-year lease for 2,073 sf of office space at 500 12th Street.
