The number of locations currently open or scheduled to open soon include eight in Oakland County, five in Wayne County, four in Macomb, with additional locations in Livingston and Washtenaw counties.
Quizno's future expansion plans target the opening of 90 restaurants throughout of Michigan by the year 2005.
Meanwhile, Miller says seven Brake Depot stores have closed after an investigation by the state's Bureau of Automotive Regulation found compelling evidence the shops performed unnecessary repairs and employed uncertified mechanics.
The locations closed are in Saginaw, Midland, Bay City, Mt. Pleasant, Flint and Mt. Morris.
In mid-2000, several employees claimed they were fired because they refused to perform unnecessary repairs as required by corporate management.
Investigators used cars with perfect working order brakes to test the stores, and were given estimates for unnecessary repairs totaling more than $750, state officials allege.
