Perrigo to Construct $1.2M R&D Facility

ALLEGAN, MI-The state and city provide $640,000 in tax abatements to drug maker for its new building, keeping the company and its 25 additional jobs in the state rather than seeing them leave for South Carolina.

ALLEGAN, MI-Perrigo Research and Development Co. will build an analytical research and development laboratory here. “Perrigo is an important part of Michigan’s Life Sciences Corridor, and it is encouraging to see the company continue to grow,” says Gov. John Engler.

“This new research and development laboratory will further enhance Perrigo’s industry leadership while providing new jobs for West Michigan families,” he adds.

The company will invest $1.2 million in a new building and an additional $400,000 for new furniture, fixtures and equipment. Due to the expansion, Perrigo will add 25 new jobs within five years.
