SEATTLE-The Seattle Art Museum will make public its plans for the long-awaited Olympic Sculpture Park today.

With a price tag of $60 million, the waterfront greenbelt will include a 7,000-sf pavilion with café and exhibition space. The multiple pathways through the park are designed to offer a variety of experiences and views. Visitors can wind their way down the main path towards the waterfront or travel on secondary routes. Pedestrian bridges connect areas of the landscape, provide safe passage over urban infrastructure and link the entire park together.

The 8.5-acre sculpture park site, formerly belonging to Unocal, is located in Belltown and is the largest undeveloped property on the waterfront. Weiss/Manfredi Architects have created a design concept for the park that connects three parcels of land divided by urban infrastructure into one open civic space that provides easy access to the waterfront. Underground parking also will be available.
