The 150,000-sf shopping center was formerly owned by Cornerstone Companies of Farmington, CT. Earlier this year Allstate, which is headquartered in Northbrook, IL took ownership of Bristol Farms Plaza.
"We specialize in repositioning shopping centers with upside potential," says Brad M. Hutensky, president of The Hutensky Group. "These are the type of centers which the shopping center industry is seeking more of as a result of the growing number of retailers in bankruptcy, the downsizing of retailers and the aging of shopping centers. Our real estate experts focus on finding the right tenant mix to rejuvenate the property."
While the firm has been retained to gage interest in the investment community, the brokerage has also been given the charge of filling vacancies at Bristol Farms Plaza, which would then increase its potential sales value, Hutensky Group officials say. Dennis Galanis, executive vice president of leasing for Hutensky Group, is heading up the leasing campaign. No asking price for the shopping center was released.
The plaza's current tenants include Sears Hardware, which occupies 33,300 sf of space; Marshalls, which leases 23,000 sf; and JoAnn Fabrics, which has 10,000 sf. The center has a 45,000 sf vacancy, which was occupied by Walbaums Foodmart. Bristol Farms Plaza also has an 8,700-sf availability. That space had been occupied by CVS Pharmacy. Two other smaller vacancies also exist at the property located on Route 6, Farmington Ave., in Bristol, Hutensky Group officials add.
