The San Lucas Apartments are a multi-family development designed by Killefer Flammang Architects. It is a four-story building with subterranean parking and will provide 116 one-bedroom units, 16 two-bedroom plans and 64 studios. The project is being developed by the Portland, Ore.-based GSL Properties.

With the Medici, the highly successful market-rate project situated close by on Seventh St., and subway and bus routes within easy walking distance of the San Lucas Apartment project, the development is an attractive housing alternative to low-income families in an area already undergoing significant commercial development.

The design will feature a contemporary profile with a stucco exterior painted in earth-tone hues, with the lower portion utilizing colored glazed block. All units will have balconies, and there will be three landscaped courtyards. Other amenities include a community room, computer room and laundry room.
