Elmer's Sells Three Stores to Franchisee

PORTLAND-Publicly traded Elmer’s Restaurants Inc. is wheeling and dealing these days as part of its strategy to increase significantly the number of franchisees in the Elmer’s system and to expand the Elmer’s brand in the western U.S.Elmer’s reports that Southern Oregon Elmer’s LLC, headed by local restaurateurs Bob Brutke and Dave Thomason, has purchased three corporate-owned Elmer’s restaurants in Medford, Grants Pass, and Roseburg, Oregon and has agreed to develop two more Elmer’s units in southern Oregon.

Elmer’s also announced this week that, in a separate transaction, it has bought back a franchised Elmer’s restaurant in Vancouver, Wash. The transactions follow the recent opening of two new franchised Elmer’s restaurants in Woodburn, Ore., and Nampa, Idaho.
