Attorney Mike Aguirre said in a letter to Mayor Dick Murphy and the council yesterday that he will file a lawsuit in 30 days if the meetings don't stop. Aguirre is a critic of the San Diego Chargers and the team's relationship with the city.

Aguirre has said he believes the meetings violate the law because the working group, which was put together by the mayor, was created without a public vote of the council.

"Mr. Aguirre's letter has a number of factual inaccuracies. It's been forwarded to the City Attorney's Office for response," Mayor Dick Murphy said in a written statement in response to Aguirre's letter.
