Built in 2000, the property features 463 two-room suites, a new American cuisine restaurant, Unity, a 20,000-sf health club, the United Artists Battery park Stadium 16 multiplex and a variety of eateries and retail stores totaling 180,000 sf. The complex also includes 15,000 sf of meeting space and a 15-story sunlit atrium.
Roughly 90% of the hotel's pre Sept. 11 staff have returned to their previous positions at the hotel and many of the restaurant, cinema and retail employees have returned as well.
Developer Forest City Ratner, Hilton Hotels Corp, Unity restaurant and United Artists Theatres/Regal Entertainment Group hosted a reopening celebration at the property last week. The complex also hosted several events and screenings last week in conjunction with the first Tribeca Film Festival.
