The deal adds three prime London offices in Chelsea/Knightsbridge, Mayfair and Marylebone to Carter Jonas's existing national network of Cambridge, Harrogate, Huddersfield, Kendal, Leeds, London, Marlborough, Oxford, North Wales, Peterborough, Shrewsbury, Worcester and York. It represents the first step in a programme of expansion in London and the South East designed to give Carter Jonas greater geographic coverage and to broaden its range of services.
Prior to buying Egerton, Carter Jonas ranked 46 in the top UK estate agents list, according to EAN. It managed residential sales and let property worth £938 million ($1.37 billion) per annum, commercial property transactions worth more than £600 million ($874 million) and more than 715,000 acres of land nationwide with a rental income of more than £54 million ($79 million). In London, Egerton manages £50 million ($73 million) of residential property sales and lettings per annum.
The combined business has 320 staff, 36 offices nationally and will be operational immediately. All the Egerton offices will have been re-branded the end of August 2002.
