Housing Finance Agency Awards $28M

MINNEAPOLIS-The projects would be built in more than 35 communities throughout the Twin Cities and Minnesota. Nineteen of the projects are in the Twin Cities; an equal number are in the suburbs.

MINNEAPOLIS-Minnesota Housing Finance Agency has awarded $28 million to fund housing projects in more than 35 communities throughout the Twin Cities metropolitanarea and Minnesota. The projects include new construction, mixed-income rental developments, permanent supportive housing, workforce housing developments, home and apartment rehabilitation, rental assistance, emergency shelters and accessible housing.

Funds awarded include first mortgages and allocation of tax credits in addition todevelopment, rehabilitation and rental assistance.

Local employer contributions and private investments allowed numerous projects to leverage funds in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Burnsville, Grand Portage, Alexandria, Hoyt Lakes, Duluth, Bemidji, Hutchinson, St. Louis Park, Winona, and several cities andcounties in the southwest region including Nicollet, Lyon, Martin, and Cottonwood counties.
