The site, which is located at North Sunrise Boulevard and Eureka Road, was purchased by Richland Communities in 2000 from Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing. Now, the development company plans to divide and sell the land.

Some of the interested developers include Doug Sutherland, a local developer; Opus West Corporation; and Shea Properties. Sutherland plans to purchase 19 acres at Stone Point to pursue a 450,000-sf office and retail complex.

Opus West will purchase 15 acres at Stone Point to develop two 90,000-sf three-story buildings on the property. And Shea Properties has already purchased a 36-acre lot, which it plans to use for a 600,000-sf office center.

According to city officials, Roseville's location allows residents to take advantage of theaters, major league sporting events, health care facilities, recreation, places of worship, museums, and other attractions, while enjoying a better quality of life and shorter commute time than areas of the Bay Area. While the Bay Area's commercial real estate market is in a slump, developers remain confident in Roseville and Sacramento.
