The ground floor, storefront space was previously a skating rink. Guitar Center plans to build out to rehab the site for its retail presence. Part of the renovation will include the demolition of a 4,250-sf mezzanine structure that the retailer does not need. The price per square foot is about $13 per year for the property.
Guitar Center's new store is located at 2660 E. Colorado Blvd. It is a new location for the nation's leading retailer of guitars, amplifiers, drums, keyboards and pro audio equipment. The site offers parking in the rear that can accommodate up to 167 vehicles.
Max Franco of Grubb & Ellis' Downtown Los Angeles office represented the landlord in the transaction. Bill Hagelis of NAI Capital Commercial represented the tenant.
