SYLMAR, CA-In an expansion that will provide the company with over 200,000 sf of contiguous warehouse space here, Marfred Industries has acquired a 98,000 sf. facility in Sylmar, Calif. The purchase price was not disclosed, but sources cite the deal being in excess of $62 per square foot, which translates to over $6 million for the transaction.

Marfred Industries is currently occupying the building located near the confluence of the 210 and 118 Freeways at 12500 Foothill Blvd., in Sylmar. The building is adjacent to the manufacturing plant that Marfred has occupied for some 16 years. Approximately 150 people will be employed between the two buildings, according to Marvin Fenster, president and chairman of Marfred Industries. Employing in excess of 300 people overall, Marfred Industries Marfred has four locations, including facilities in North Hollywood and Lake View Terrace, and a 25,000 sf sales and distribution facility in Las Vegas, Nev.

Marfred Industries’ new Sylmar facility is a concrete tilt-up structure featuring 26-foot interior clearance, ground level truck loading and ample on-site parking. The acquisition brings the company’s total building space in the Sylmar/Sun Valley area to approximately 450,000 sf.
