Murphy Calls for Task Force on Chargers Issue

SAN DIEGO-San Diego Mayor Dick Murphy says he will ask the council to approve a citizens' task force to find a resolution to the escalating conflict over the future of the San Diego Chargers.

SAN DIEGO-On the heels of an ominous letter to an LA-based developer, San Diego Mayor Dick Murphy says he will seek citizen input in an effort to help resolve Chargers issues.

Local attorney Mike Aguirre has filed two lawsuits over the city’s recent dealings with the NFL team. Murphy recently called a news conference to address the issue of keeping the team in San Diego.

Aguirre filed the second lawsuit against the city of San Diego last Thursday seeking to force the release of documents. He filed the first suit on May 24 asking that city officials be prevented from meeting in private to discuss the issue of financing a new stadium.
