Rivermark, 152-acre development, is part of a 225-acre master-planned development located at the former Agnews Hospital site in Santa Clara, north of Montague Expressway between highways 101 and 880. The community is split into six distinct neighborhoods and includes retail, parks, a planned K-8 school and library, and other services. The remaining land is occupied by Sun Microsystems, apartments and a daycare center.

Planned and developed by Rivermark Partners LLC, a joint venture between Centex Homes, Shea Homes and Greystone Homes, the Rivermark neighborhoods features an 1,800-unit housing complex, along with a trail system, public service station and open space. The Village, the community's shopping center, will feature a 60,000-sf Safeway, as well as retail and specialty food shops, an upscale restaurant, and a 150-room hotel.

"Rivermark is the first community of its kind to be built on the West Coast," says Alex Barry, Marketing Director for Rivermark Partners, LLC, builders of the community. "It represents the ideal in mixed use, high density housing—providing all the comforts of a classic residential neighborhood, with all the amenities and conveniences of Silicon Valley. It will no doubt be a model for other urban villages throughout the country."
