City Gets First Class A With $3.4M Real Estate HQ

EDGEWATER, MD-Diversified real estate firm Washington Brick and Terra Cotta Companies has broken ground on its new $3.4 million headquarters to be located in Edgewater’s South River Colony. The 40,000-sf building will be the city’s first Class A office structure. The building, designed by architectural firm DR Brasher, also carries the distinction of being Anne Arundel County’s first “living roof” structure. Manekin LLC is the project developer.

The structure will have shallow rooted plants on the roof that will help absorb rainwater runoff. Washington Brick will occupy the top floor, leaving the remaining 28,000 sf on the second and third floors available for lease. There will also be a ground level garage at the site. Construction is scheduled for completion before this winter.
