Judicial Center to Get 48,000-SF Addition

MANASSAS, VA-County officials make progress on the planned $9 million upgrade to the Prince William County Judicial Center with the selection of Tucon Construction Corporation as contractor. The 129,000-sf structure at 9311 Lee Avenue will get an additional 48,000-sf, and 10,000-sf of space will undergo renovation. Information on the proposed start of the project is unavailable.

While the nearly two-decade old structure has undergone upgrades in the past, an ever-increasing caseload prompted officials to make the expansion. An 85,000-sf expansion was planned in 1990 before economic issues postponed the endeavor. Tucon’s renovation entails several room expansions, as well as the addition of six courtroom sets, a new Grand Jury room, a child waiting area, and a media room.
