The interiors will look like "big custom homes," Adam Diskin, a John Hagy principal tells GlobeSt.com, with travertine tile and faux walls. The two-story building, 45% pre-leased, is to be ready to occupy in late October or early November.

The project is one of several under way in Bee Cave. "There's still a big demand for office space in Bee Cave," Diskin says. He says the community appeals to business people who live west of Austin and want office space. They don't, however, want to drive into Austin every day.

Bohl's Plaza tenants include several real estate firms with projects in Bee Cave and other parts of western Travis County. Developer John Hagy Custom Homes is one tenant as is an affiliate, Insite Housing Partners, which develops affordable multifamily housing. Another tenant is to be California-based Makar Properties.

The real estate orientation was unintentional, but it could continue. "We're talking to a couple of title companies, a couple of mortgage brokers and a couple of real estate companies," Diskin says. The developer also is talking to doctors and dentists. "There's a lot of medical out here looking for space, especially dentists," Diskin says.

The $2-million project is tucked away off Bee Cave Road, hidden in a stand of mature trees. It will have outdoor courtyards and a basketball court. Austin-based Cornerstone Group is the architect and John Hagy Custom Homes, the contractor.
