Long Island City-based Sholom & Zuckerbrot's executive vice president John Ritter negotiated on behalf of both the tenant and building owner Gladiator Realty. This deal marks S&Z's second transaction involving the property in five years. In 1997, the firm negotiated its sale by U.S. Industries.
With this move ITR doubles its operations, having previously occupied 20,000 sf in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Ritter says the company will employ more than 50 employees at the new, built-out space. The 6.3-acre site is the former headquarters of cookware manufacturer Farberware, which housed 800 employees there.
Founded in 1962, S&Z Realty LLC is a full-service real estate firm focusing on office, retail, industrial and investment brokerage and management, as well as development and build-to-suit projects.
